The Memorial is this Saturday evening March 22,2008. Will they cancel any of the meetings or will they still have the Book Study,Ministry School,and Sunday meeting? Isn't that alot of meetings in one week? Now I know why I rarely attend!

Are you mostly disappointed in the WTS beliefs,doctrines,or practices?
by RULES & REGULATIONS ini'm here on jwd because of the watchtower's practice of disfellowshipping.
that's is one pratice that really made me question if i really wanted to continue as a member.
i always thought that by kicking the disfellowshipped or disassociated out of the kingdom hall was enough.

I'm here on JWD because of the Watchtower's practice of disfellowshipping. That's is one pratice that really made me question if I really wanted to continue as a member. I always thought that by kicking the disfellowshipped or disassociated out of the Kingdom Hall was enough. Taking away privilages was good enough for me.
Not talking to someone,eating with them,and having no association with them was too much of a punishment and not Christ like. I will never agree with this practice.
What WTS belief,doctrine,or practice are you mostly disappointed in?

Q10) Why should we not hold back from preaching to people who may seem intimidating? Relate local experiences.
10) Appearances can be deceptive. Ignacio, * for example, began studying the Bible with Jehovah's Witnesses while he was in prison in a South American country. He was feared because of his violent nature. Consequently, inmates who made and sold items to fellow prisoners used Ignacio to collect debts from those who were slow to pay. However, as Ignacio made spiritual progress and applied what he was learning, this once violent bully became a kind person. No one uses him to collect debts anymore, yet Ignacio is content that Bible truths and God's spirit have transformed his personality. He is also grateful for the open-mindedness of the Kingdom publishers who made the effort to study with him.
It's great to hear that Ignacio made spiritual progress all because he studied with Jehovah's Witnesses and that Bible truths and God's spirit transformed his personality. That may be true and things like that really happen. They also happen in other religions.
How come they don't relate the experiences of my local congregation? How come these following experiences never made the Watchtower study?
Three Ministerial Servants( in a 2 year period)were disfellowshipped for cheating on their wives. They left their wives and children and moved in with their new girlfriends. None of them to this day pay child support and all 3 sisters moved in with their parents because they can't make ends meet.

but none of us were allowed to consider as a possibility the other person's arguments.
our job was to turn their minds around but the people on the other side made more sense than i did.

I was full of fire when I first got baptized. I was a teenager with lots of friends who didn't understand what had happened to me. Preaching in school to anyone who would listen was counting service time for me.
Well,one my friends started listening and I would bring books over to his house. I would always invite him to the meetings but he would always decline. His mother walked in one time and I asked her if it would be ok if he read the books and came to one of our meetings. She said,''I will let him take your books and go to your meetings if you take one of our Catholic books and come to one of our services.'' I said that I couldn't read any of their books or walk into a Catholic Church. She said,''If you can't come to our Church,we can't come to yours.''

I attend only 2 meetings per month. I walk in 1 minute before the song starts and leave as soon as possible. I make up an excuse that my wife is visiting her mother nearby and that she is waiting in the parking lot for me. What other excuses can I use since this one is getting old?

The WTS are the modern day Pharisees. The outer appearance is more important. They always make sure everyone knows how many new members they have,how many got baptized,how many new congregations were built,how many hours were spent in field service,and all the other useless information.
What they don't practice is helping the sick and needy,the elderly,depressed,out-of-luck ,homeless,unemployed, and every other hassles of every day life.
Go ahead WTS.............. keep selling all your real estate holdings because that's all your're good for!
Jesus Christ defined pharisees in the following passage;
“The teachers of the law and the Pharisees sit in Moses' seat. So you must obey them and do everything they tell you. But do not do what they do, for they do not practice what they preach. Read paragraph 13 and you'll find out how crafty they really are! First,they use the word not all the 144,000 were selected in the first century. How do they really know that? Then they use ''apparently'' slowed down. How do they know that? Finally,they use the words ''it did'' continue into the modern times. There you have it! Many MS will become elder's shadows, in hopes to be recommended by them for Eldership.
Nepotism and bias runs in my congregation.We have 4 Elders who are all related. The oldest Elder recommended his son and son-in-law for Eldership years ago and all were chosen. Now his granddaughter's husband has just been chosen.( So much for the holy sprit doing the choosing!)
Were Elders in your congregation biased as to who would be recommended for Eldership? Were you or anyone in your family passed up because of nepotism or bias?

Our role as teachers is to make the Bible easy to understand. Effective teachers convey information simply, clearly, and accurately. If we follow this guideline, we will not make the truth more complicated than it needs to be. Avoid unnecessary details. There is no need to comment on every aspect of a scripture that we read. Simply focus on what is essential to clarifying the point under consideration. The student will come to appreciate deeper Scriptural truths as he progresses in his understanding.-Heb. 5:13,14.

Forced Seating
by Tired of the Hypocrisy inanyone else have to deal with being herded to the front of the hall before a meeting?.
i recall one cong in particular...west sacramento was notorious for this crap.
i was a large individual and today i am even larger....lol 6'2" and around 250 lbs back then.

We have been told numerous times to sit up front in the middle rows. It works for a week or so than everyone scatters back to their own seats. That's why I came up with my name ''RULES AND REGULATIONS.'' They load up on rules that have nothing to do about the Bible.
